Galena Pride Steps and Bridge
To celebrate Pride Month, rainbow flags and stairs will take over the Galena Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Galena. It is a stunning tribute to those who have fought for inclusivity and equal rights. It is also a fabulous photo opportunity for visiting tourists, and locals! Pride flags will be given away at the NEW visitor center in the Galena Train Depot all month of June.
History of the Pride Picnic
Previous Innkeepers Alex and Geoff were proud to plan the first pride event in Galena, the Galena Pride Picnic. They had to cancel the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but kicked off the event in 2021 with the help of community members, Visit Galena, and The Riverview Center! Alex & Geoff continued planning in 2022 with the Galena Public Library as the new sponsor. They are happy to help coordinate the first pride celebration.
